Historic, yet racism seems to be coming to a historic place of learning and being left as we move into a future of learning and leaving the past behind
This article speaks to the removal of the Roosevelt statue in Ny at the Natural History museum and really explains the reasons for moving int the future.
It is very well thought out and written.
Removing the statue is not about “canceling” Roosevelt’s legacy, as The Wall Street Journal argues, but, rather, an effort to honor it. “The world does not need statues, relics of another age, that reflect neither the values of the person they intend to honor nor the values of equality and justice,” wrote Teddy’s great-grandson, Theodore Roosevelt IV, in a statement supporting the removal. “The composition of the Equestrian Statue does not reflect Theodore Roosevelt’s legacy. It is time to move the statue and move forward.”

This happened July 3, but I wasn't near wifi so I have yet to see its. I have heard it is good from people who saw it on Broadway.

Lots of information to found here. So many activities and alternatives t screen time.
Don’t bug out, but …. This activity will give kids some much-needed exercise (and you a much-needed break), plus help them use math and observation skills. With just a Hula-Hoop, some string, or a box, children can take a bug count in their yards, just like entomologists do.

I will add the photos when back to wifi, or you can look up on Google images.

Nat Geo Family Camp. Summer’s looking a little different this year, and that likely means no camp—or a very limited version of it. That’s why we came up with Nat Geo Family Camp, an eight-part series of activities for parents and kids to have “camp” at home. Check out Week One ideas for doing some ice breakers and creating your family camp logo, then come back Wednesday for activities that will make kids feel like they’re at a “lake.” (Maybe this soft, fluffy “play sand” will help!) You can also join our Facebook event to see what other at-home campers are doing.

Who is Alexander Hamilton? Ahead of Friday's streaming of the play-turned-movie Hamilton, Nat Geo Kids has put together quick facts on the audacious orphan, hard-working immigrant, aide to George Washington, and America's first Treasury Secretary, the person whose face graces the $10 bill. Here's a trailer from the movie.
