wifi is limited, so many people using the systems. Many people around Cape Cod and the Islands of New England during the summer months. Covid brings new concerns to Mind. Hearing more people infected and favorite spots shutting again as people are getting sick. Wear a mask, protect yourself and others.

steps in the direction of back to the 70's and Wax paper cups would benefit our Planet

Dixie Cups still do the trick, or ceramic and high heat dishwashers make sense.

“We prominently display them in the store, and we have cashiers offer them,” McLaughlin says. “We had a 42% increase in sales of reusable bags last year, which is great on one hand, but how much are people using them? Have they really solved the problem? I’m not sure.” She also points out that all of these reusable totes come with their own problematic lifecycle—a reusable plastic bag needs to be used 37 times to match the footprint of a disposable plastic bag, and a cotton bag needs to be used anywhere from 100 to more than 1,000 times, depending on the study you cite. If people don’t use these reusable totes enough to pay for their footprint, they can’t be considered much if any greener than disposables. Eileen Howard Boone, senior vice president of corporate social responsibility and philanthropy, and chief sustainability officer at CVS, agrees. “That’s the issue here . . . unintended consequence [of reusable bags],” Boone says. “You’ve taken one problem and created another.”

In 2018, McDonald’s and Starbucks teamed up to create an eco-friendly alternative to the single-use soft drink cup. Coordinated by the investment firm Closed Loop Partners with support from the design studio Ideo, it was an unprecedented, joint effort between rivals to fix the ecological impact at the core of their business. Several of the resulting winners were piloted in stores earlier this year.
Now, the retail industry is following suit. Today, Walmart, Target, and CVS Health are announcing the Beyond the Bag Initiative, a plan to reinvent single-use plastic bags. The three companies are leading the new initiative with Closed Loop; Kroger and Walgreens have signed up as well. With $15 million in promised investments, the partners are inviting entrepreneurs and inventors to pitch new ideas to replace the 100 billion plastic bags still used in the United States every year.

I will burn any paper rubbish in the fire pit and keep a paper grocery bag from the market by the door where I throw lint from the dryer, papers and any small pieces of wood to start our fire pit for an evening outside with friends. This has been the only way we have gotten together with people since the beginning of Covid.

In Boulder, Colorado, Alpine Cafe, had a shining example of sustainable cups for use. With a water source for filling right there. Not sure how this has changed during Covid, but we were there for a Triathlon Summit at CU and I was pleasantly surprised by such a nice display.

These paper Handled Bags were at Michaels. Great for kids to Decorate for gifting later as a fun and creative project.

I Keep a corksickle or swell, both gifted to me in the last years holidays gifts, filled with water the night before to keep my lunch bag cool or keep my hydrated in my car throughout the day.

I notice when an establishment has sustainable takeout.

I Love Tasty Burgers Retro paper wrap. They do it so well.

There are many ways to make choices to help out planets and households.
I love getting a sandwich wrapped in paper and the satisfaction I have when I know that the contents and wrapping will go back int the ecosystem without long term effects of plastic. Changing to these products and reinvesting in simplicity has allowed us to start our fires in the wood stove with the lint from our dryer, cable drippings and wax paper bags to sustainably coexist with Earth.

I also found sustainable composable cutlery on amazon and am happy to see wood cutlery at a coffee bar called Jaho in Boston's Back Bay.

there are many people investing in change to the marketplace.

There is a sustainable solution for teeth cleaning too, if you don't like to use plain old Dental floss, which has many uses. I am so sad to see dental picks and cigarette butts on the ground. Nip bottles and Aluminum Cans and glass and Plastic bottles on our Beaches, Plastic bags washing up out of the Oceans, and Mylar Balloons have been banned here. So Many discarded objects falling-out land and Oceans with Trash and choking our wildlife.

Blessings and wishes for health to you and your family.
