I also struggled with this as an athlete in High School and College. I kept a food diary and exercise log. Both excellent ways to tune into your wellness.  This is good on Balance. Food is Fuel. I never weighed myself during high school and tried to maintain a diet very similar to before I became a serious cyclist. I stayed pretty healthy, but as I continued to make progress in my cycling career, I knew I wasn’t optimizing my diet for what I was asking my body to do. It's the start of a new school year. 2020-2021 Let's make it great. Find what interests you and expand. Look closer and find connections to build upon. Have some fun, exercise, eat the rainbow of healthy foods, and challenge yourself each new day.  My Blog is about pulling learning resources from as many sources as possible. This blog began as a way for me to pull all the information I have used, gather, and come across from my knowledge base and anything else I find of interest and or come across daily. I have a Masters in Elementary Education 1-6, my undergraduate degrees are in Communications, (Graphic Design concentration) and International Relations. I have raised two daughters of my own, 24 and 19, as well as work with kids in the schools in our town for 25 years on a part time, volunteer, as a mentor, or as a Substitute Teacher over these years. Thursday 5/21  Petroglyphs are rock carvings (rock paintings are called pictographs) made by pecking directly on the rock surface using a stone chisel and a hammerstone. When the desert varnish (or patina) on the surface of the rock was chipped off, the lighter rock underneath was exposed, creating the petroglyph. Archaeologists have estimated there may be over 25,000 petroglyph images along the 17 miles of escarpment within the monument boundary. It is estimated 90% of the monument's petroglyphs were created by the ancestors of today's Pueblo people. Puebloans have lived in the Rio Grande Valley since before 500 A.D., but a population increase around 1300 A.D. resulted in numerous new settlements. Tuesday 5/26 Memorial Day has passed. Thank you to all who have served and given the Ultimate debt of their lives for our Freedom.
